We’re looking for volunteers to help with delivering the Bio-Diverse Festival 2021 and with running the Bio-Diverse Project. We are particularly interested in hearing from people from diverse groups underserved and underrepresented in science, at all career stages and working/studying within a variety of sectors.
We are looking for all manner of skills and time commitments, but in particular people who can help us with:
• Website design and content
• Creation and design of promotional material
• Technical support for live and recorded events and Discord
• Event organisation and moderating
• Social media
• Creating and writing transcripts, alt text, and video captions
• Language translation
• Steering the direction of and representation within the Bio-Diverse Project
You need to have good interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and as a team member, and be capable of using IT and/or social media. You will be able to carry out your role and tasks at times that work best for you, but there will be overarching deadlines to deliver the festival. As a member of the team, you can get involved as much or as little as you like and will be able to contribute to decisions big and small within the project.
You’ll gain experience in event organisation, science communication, social media, and EDI projects, create a network of inspiring individuals, and contribute to positive change. We are hoping to provide an honorarium payment to all our volunteers, depending on our funding success.
